Directional drilling and vacuum excavation, Western Sydney and Penrith
Spot On Excavations installs water, telecommunications and electrical conduit by directional drilling, and runs vacuum excavation, across Western Sydney from Penrith to Camden and from Blacktown to Badgerys Creek, mobilising from its base in North Richmond, NSW.

Who does directional drilling in Western Sydney?
Spot On Excavations, based in North Richmond, NSW, does directional drilling for estates, roads and utilities across Western Sydney, where services often arrive after the roads are sealed. New suburbs arrive faster than the trenches can be opened in them. Roads are sealed, kerbs are poured and driveways are in before the last services arrive, which is when directional drilling pays off. A bore passes beneath finished surfaces and existing mains without closing a road or cutting a verge. We work for contractors who need water, telecommunications and electrical conduit installed in suburbs that are still being built, as well as in older streets with ageing services.
Badgerys Creek and the Aerotropolis
Our recent Western Sydney work includes a 355 mm SDR11 PN16 PE100 water main at Badgerys Creek in 2026, to Sydney Water specification with manufacturer Certificates of Compliance to AS/NZS 4130. The projects page has the details. As the Western Sydney Aerotropolis and surrounding employment lands are built out, bulk water, power and communications crossings will keep arriving, and large-diameter PE is something we have already handled.
Growth-area subdivisions
New estates around Camden, Marsden Park, Riverstone and Leppington need conduit for communications and power at every road crossing and often along the verge. We install that conduit singly or in multi-conduit bundles, with pits positioned for the cable pulls that follow, under pipe and conduit installation. Where the route is clear, open trenching with compact excavators from our excavation and pits service is often cheaper, and we will say which suits your stage.
Who bores under roads in Penrith, Blacktown and Liverpool?
Spot On Excavations drills under roads in these suburbs after exposing the existing services. Penrith, Parramatta, Blacktown and Liverpool have established street networks with decades of buried services, not all of them where the records say. Before we bore, we expose the existing services by vacuum excavation or potholing, then drill under the road. Our road and creek crossings page explains how this works for roads, creeks and rail corridors.
Ground and logistics
- Cumberland Plain shale and clay are common across the west, with sandstone toward the Hills and the Blue Mountains edge.
- Rural-residential edges mean farm tracks, dams and creek lines, handled the same way as in the nearby Hawkesbury.
- Penrith and the Hills are close to our North Richmond yard, so mobilisation is short. Camden and Liverpool are further, and we plan the day around the trip.

Questions
Western Sydney questions
Which Western Sydney suburbs do you work in?
Penrith, Blacktown, Parramatta, the Hills, Liverpool, Camden and Badgerys Creek, plus the growth areas around them.
Have you installed large water mains?
Yes. We have worked on a 355 mm SDR11 PN16 PE100 water main at Badgerys Creek to Sydney Water specification, in 2026, supplied with manufacturer Certificates of Compliance.
Can you install conduit for a new estate?
Yes, by drilling at road and driveway crossings and by trench along clear verges. Pits are placed to suit the cable pulls that follow.
Can you drill under an existing road?
Yes. We expose existing services first, then bore under the road so it stays open. The depth and method depend on the road and the services found.
How far is Western Sydney from your base?
Penrith and the Hills are close to North Richmond. Camden and Liverpool are further, which affects mobilisation, and we allow for that in the quote.
